• Lepas Selamat Datang, sebelah balai polis.
• Tamil father, Hokkien mother whose father brought up by British to construct Bukit Fraser. Both born on the hill.
• Anak dia Nathan - lived in flat, very close. 70-85% Malays study at sekolah Cina, semua boleh cakap Cina. Anak Cik Joyah, Fetty, sekarang translator di Putrajaya. As time passes - slowly changing. Jaga kedai sejak umur 10 tahun. Now based in KL. Every month delivery to shop.

• Datang 1990an, jatuh hati.
• 2008: Ada rumah nak dijual di Bukit Fraser. Duduk beberapa tahun. Banyak kanak2 sekolah di Puncak Inn buat kerja sekolah, sebab wifi ada kat situ saja. Tak ada perpustakaan.
• Made proposal: jumpa MB di Kuantan, not interested. Tak ada siapa nak datang katanya.
• GM Mokhtar panggil. Dah baca proposal. Ada beberapa tempat proposed. Ada hall di depan Puncak Inn - asalnya Kompleks Pelancongan → Sukan. Depan ada stage. Started there. Disokong ramai.
• Dewan di Silverpark. Start cataloguing books. Bookshelfs diderma. Cuma nak duit utk bayar gaji penjaga. Ada 5,000 buku. Tiap2 minggu penuh kanak-kanak. Ada banyak aktiviti, bercerita setiap Sabtu. Board games, dam, catur. Sangat meriah setiap hujung minggu di stage depan golf club office. Tumpuan beberapa tahun.
• 100 tahun Bukit Fraser: Pengarah Perpustakaan Pahang datang tengok perpustakaan, suka, dan nak ambil alih. Nak buat buku bangunan2 warisan. Dah buat dgn fotografernya Steven. Mencari bahan2, interview, dll, utk dapatkan sejarah setiap bangunan. Malangnya cetak 1,000 sahaja utk sambut 100 tahun. Ramai tanya, tak ada. Tak reprint.
• Sekarang perpustakaan di bawah perbadanan - dah mati/dingin. Tak ada orang pergi. Tak dimaintain.
• 80% buku asal dibawa keluar, dibawa ke Steven . dan library di Silverpark.

• Asalnya Staff quarters Merlin @ Fraser's Hill Hotel (colonial building, 1976-1990)
• Mengubah Bukit Fraser sekali lagi
• Affordable houses - sebelum ni bungalows owned by corporations and tycoons, now owner as second house etc
• Socially, now have class system (previously bosses & coolies - friends)
• People from outside bring own culture, no knowledge of the land
• Start of new housing: Taman Setia - tersorok. Asalnya 2 blok flats, lepas tu ada flat polis, apartment baru. Jauh, dekat dengan Jeriau, dekat Smokehouse. Kids have to walk all the way to Tamil School and Chinese School.
• Dulu ada mini zoo: shortcut for flat kids to school. Lalu bear, monkeys, bears, elephant (gift of Sultan Ibrahim Kelantan), etc.

• Sebelumnya Sekolah Chong Hwa, sekolah Cina pertama Bukit Fraser, sebelumnya public works quarters (JKR Ulu Selangor - tinggal 1 unit)
• Ada tanah runtuh, tak selamat, jadi pindah ke Oleh Sayang, opposite Maybank Lodge (2nd school - ada runtuhan dlm trail)
• Sekolah baru (Jasmine): SRJKC Bukit Fraser

• Sekolah Cina ditutup 5 tahun lepas. 4 tahun sebelumnya ada SJKC 1 saja murid: Thomas Tan. Sekolah menengah di KKB ( https://www.pressreader.com/malaysia/the-star-malaysia/20170219/282969629828483 ). 4 guru, 1 pengetua - documentary done last day Darjah 6. - proposed to MOE to be museum in 2018 (Teo Nee Ching deputy minister Education) → change government → wrote again. Late 2023, assigned to other thing. - sekolah darjah 1 given small plot utk tanaman. Help clean. RMT, makan sama2. Basuh pinggan sendiri.

Sebelum anda balik, make sure you grab the famous FH shortbread sebagai tanda anda telah sampai di Fraser's Hill. Ada kisah cinta puluhan tahun, antara shortbread dan Fraser's Hill. You will get a glimpse of the love story with only one bite.
FH Shortbread hanya RM16 available at the Glasshouse Fraser's Hill, Shahzan Inn Fraser's Hill & Puncak Inn Fraser's Hill. I think, semua restaurants & cafes di Fraser's Hill must make this shortbread available at their counter, sebagai tanda sokongan to preservation of FH's heritage.”

I would recommend the night walk .. RM60 per pax for about 2 hours .. boleh start anytime after 8.30

Serving Malay nasi berlauk. Famous di kalangan local people. Reasonable price. Don't be surprised baru pukul 1tghari, lauk dah habis. Lauk di kedai ni memang cepat habis. Jika lauk habis, they still can do goreng-goreng food for you.

Lokasi : Food Court. Agak tersorok ke dalam di bahagian belakang. How to find the cafe? Just follow the coffee aroma. Siapa sangka we could have a good quality fresh ground coffee up in Fraser's Hill. A place that able to create brew-tiful memory for you.
Set gearbox kari kambing or soup gearbox mereka, is a must try. Laksa sarang burung pun menyengat sedap time sejuk-sejuk.”
