Proceedings initiated by South Africa against Israel in International Court of Justice (ICJ), concerning the violations by Israel of its obligations under the Genocide Convention. (11-12 January 2024): A Brief Summary of Section III(C)

Genocidal Acts Committed against the Palestinian People

(1) Killing Palestinians in Gaza, including a large proportion of women and children - estimated to account for around 70 per cent of the more than 21,110 fatalities - some of whom appear to have been summarily executed; (pp.31-35).

(2) Causing serious mental and bodily harm to Palestinians in Gaza, including through maiming, psychological trauma, and inhuman and degrading treatment; (pp.35-37).
